Microfinance - The MIX Market - 4th Annual Conference AFMIN (Dec. 6-10)

The African Network of Microfinance AFMIN is organizing its 4th Annual Conference on "Increase in the outreach and scale of microfinance in Africa", from the 6th to the 10th of December, 2004. This is taking place in Bamako, Mali, in collaboration with the Professional Association of the Institutions of Microfinance of Mali (APIM/Mali), the Ministry for the Promotion of the Investments and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the Republic of Mali, FENU/UNCDF, United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

The specific objectives of the 4th annual conference of AFMIN are:

To provide a forum for the actors of the micro finance sector in Africa (microfinance experts, networks; political decision makers and partners of development) in order to exchange information and experiences, and to make recommendations on policies and strategies to increase outreach and scale of micro finance in Africa;
To reinforce the shared vision, effectiveness and procedures of mutual responsability as well as good governance within the members of AFMIN;
To provide theoretical and practical training, develop strategic partnerships and increase alliances between networks, MFIs, technical service providers and regulatory bodies.
