Sanabel, the regional network for microfinance in the Arab States, held its first annual conference at the Dead Sea in Jordan from the 15th to the 17th December 2003. This meeting, the first event sponsored by the network, brought together actors from all aspects of microfinance interested in microfinance and participating in its growth in the region. The MIX supported this conference through presentations, workshops, panels and regional planning sessions. In preparation for the Sanabel conference, the MIX prepared a report benchmarking the performance of MBB participating MFIs in the region. MIX-SANABEL “Benchmarking Arab Microfinance”
