The Microfinance Centre for Central and Eastern Europe and the New Independent States (MFC) led the way in partnering with the MIX Market to support its affiliates.

MFC's mission is to promote the development of a strong and sustainable microfinance sector in order to increase access to financial services for low-income people, particularly micro-entrepreneurs.  MFC began operations in 1997, and the network currently serves 69 microfinance institutions.
