Calvert Foundation's mission is to maximize the flow of capital to disadvantaged communities.

Calvert Foundation is dedicated to establishing community investment as a new asset class. Calvert Foundation uses innovative financial products and services to mobilize capital, that generates blended financial and social returns.

Calvert Foundation provides loans to high-performing microenterprise and affordable housing programs in developing countries. The program targets profitable institutions with at least 3 yrs experience and $2 million in assets.

Approximately 30% of the Calvert Foundation portfolio is invested internationally; 70% is invested in the United States. Over 2,200 individuals and institutions invest in Calvert Foundation, including Calvert Group, a socially responsible mutual fund company that invests between 1-3% of assets in the Foundation.

Calvert Foundation does not offer grants, but lends funds to groups that will re-lend the money to businesses, nonprofits or projects in their respective communities.
