India has a population of over 1000 million of which about 350 million live below an austerely defined poverty line. About 70 percent of the population are engaged in agriculture contributing to less than 30 percent of GDP. It has limited ability to absorb more manpower.

India needs to generate 14 million new livelihoods every year! There is a need to generate a large number of sustainable livelihoods in rural India, preferably in the non-farm and the allied sectors.

The main goal of our organisation is to promote livelihoods for poor people, mostly rural. We mainly work with economically active rural poor households, engaged in agriculture, livestock rearing, household manufacturing or services activities. The way we do it is by providing credit, and technical asistance and support services such as input supply or market linkages, where needed.
