Caja Los Andes S.A. FFP is the result of the complete transfer of all financial activities from the not-to-profit Association "Pro-Crédito" created originally in 1992 by a group of Bolivian professionals. Pro-Crédito remains the most important shareholder (46,95%) of the new company incorporated in 1995 (the first of its kind in Bolivia) as a "Fondo Financiero Privado" (an intermediary legal form between NGO and fully licensed bank, the main difference being the interdiction of offering site deposits), supervised by the national Superintendency of Banks and Financial Entities. GTZ has been one of the main technical assistance providers all along the Pro-Crédito and Caja Los Andes history. Caja Los Andes' main challenge is to keep the national leading position in terms of economic efficiency, return and assets quality in an increasingly competitive environment. Moreover, Caja Los Andes wants to strengthen the capital base and to diversify finance sources. Ocultar
