Sewa Federation was promoted to provide platform for employees thrift Cooperative Societies functioning in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Only employees Cooperative credit societies have become members and were availing non financial services like training to elected Board of Directors, employees regarding Management of Society and maintain proper accounts to enable the member to have accurate information. Member Education regarding objective and services of thrift cooperative role and responsibilities of members for effective functioning of the Society. Apart from this Sewa Federation was also lobbying with Cooperative Department regarding problems faced by Societies.Sewa Federation Board has decided to admit other than employees Thrift Societies as members. As a result of this decission Pragathi Podupu Sangham and other Neighbourhood Thrift Societies functioning around Mailardevpally have become members of Sewa Federation. After seeing success of these Neighbourhood Thrift Societies, Sewa Federation Board has decided to promote similar Thrift Societies in Andhra Pradesh. In 1986 promotion of Womens Thrift Societies have been started in Raipole and other villages of Ibrahimpatnam Mandal, Ranga Reddy District. These are the First Womens Thrift Socities in Andhra Pradesh. After seeing success at Ibrahimpatnam area similar type Womens Thrift Socities were promoted in large scale in Kadapa, Kurnool and Adilabad Districts of Andhra Pradesh.Sewa Federation Board has appointed Rural Sub Committee in 1989. Challenges:Organise atleast 2000 societies with an outreach of 5lakh members. Provide thrift based pension, special deposit services and health in surance services to all members of the system.Provide atleast 3lakh members access to credit, loan insurance and related financial services and attain average loan of Rs.20,000 per member.Create trained and competent cadre of staff with well laid human resource management policies.Energise the management of federation and member - societies with modern technology, best business, member relations and management practices.Consolidate partnerships with financial institutions for enhancing working capital base and offer credit services on competitive rates.
