Leer másProFI is a technical cooperation program between Bank Indonesia and the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and aims at increasing the access of the Indonesian population, including low-income groups and the poor, to sustainable financial services through viable microfinance institutions and the strengthening of systems and frameworks necessary to develop a sound and growing microfinance industry. To achieve its objectives the program comprises the following components and fields of intervention:
1) Setting up a national microfinance policy framework;
2) Strengthening BPR regulation and supervision;
3) Strengthening BPR associations;
4) Strengthening LPD regulation and supervision;
5) Developing a support structure/association for LPD;
6) Developing a training and certification system for small financial intitutions;
7) Improving the (re)financing of small financial institutions;
8) Developing a legal and regulatory framework for non-bank MFI;
9) Strengthening and upgrading of non-bank MFI.
