En savoir plusThe ACCION Gateway Fund, LLC invests directly in regulated microfinance institutions or non-profit organizations that are transforming into regulated microfinance institutions. The Fund is managed ACCION International. Since its founding, the Gateway Fund has invested approximately US$5.0 million in eight microfinance institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Fund, capitalized by the Consultative Group to Assist the Poorest (CGAP) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is currently 100% deployed. The investment objective of the Fund is to generate long-term capital gains and current income through investments in equity, quasi-equity and medium-term debt securities issued by microfinance institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. The estimated life of the Gateway Fund is ten years with two three-year extensions at the option of the manager.
The Financial Services Department of ACCION International manages the ACCION Gateway Fund, operating from Washington DC.
