En savoir plusDOEN Foundation, which was established by the National Postcode Lottery in 1991, promotes a liveable world in which everyone has a place. As a catalyst with the ability to take high risks, it supports small and large projects which provide access to a multihued, liveable community. DOEN focuses mainly on projects and organisations with an active entrepreneurial and sustainable nature. It provides funding in the form of subsidies where required, and loans, guarantees and equity investments where possible. DOEN provides support for
projects in the fields of Sustainable Development, Culture and Welfare. It receives contributions from the National Postcode
Lottery, the BankGiro Lottery and the Sponsor Lottery for this purpose.
The objective of DOEN's Financial Sector Development programme is to improve supply of financial services to those with limited or no access. To this end DOEN actively promotes the set-up, and provides finance, to new Microfinance and SME investment initiatives. In addition, DOEN supports new initiatives that improve access to the financial sector, such as technological innovators and financial advisory companies. DOEN started its micro finance activities in 1994 with the Triodos-Doen Foundation and has since expanded its' expertise through an investment in ProCredit Holding and by working directly with MFIs.
