Fifty percent of the total population of the country is women who are mostly illiterate and isolated from the mainstream of socio-economical life. ADESH with its institution building and gender equity program with women in 6 Union of Savar Thana is trying hard to establish their socio-economic right in the greater society. To gain empowerment of women in their social life, financial independence is the principal factor that has to address at the fist priority. Cacher

ADESH from its initiation has been stepped forward to uplift the socio-economic condition of the poor community both in rural and semi-urban areas. Alongside with social program, ADESH put prior importance to run Micro-finance (MF) program in its operational areas. In line with that, it started MF program in 1995. From that period ADESH has gathered experiences and utilized those practical experiences in running viable MF program activities. At the beginning ADESH managed capital from its own fund and group savings. To be mentioned here that, ADESH from its starting year (1988) organized poor people in ‘Group’ here as called by ‘Solidarity group’ consisting of female members. Averagely, from one household two members (age range 15-60 years) could be the members in a group. In MF program, this type of village level group is the main vehicle to lead the program activities. In time, ADESH managed fund as grant from Diakonia, a donor organization of Sweden to use the fund as ‘Revolving Loan Fund (RLF)’. After successful implementation, ADESH qualified itself to receive loan fund from CARE Bangladesh. This fund was used in the field from 1988 to 2005. ADESH paid back all loan to CARE in 2006. In this situation ADESH likes to widen its program to cover more needy people (clients) within its existing operational area. In this regard ADESH seeks fund from outside donor/investor.
Major challenges of MF program in present situation are:
· Coping with present open market saturation;
· Maintaining 100% loan realization rate all the times;
