The mission of PAPME is to promote the development of small and medium enterprises in Benin, to reinforce the economic base of poor, self-employed people undertaking a small enterprise and those who have a fixed income due to a salary or otherwise. Contexte et principaux défis:
PAPME was created in October 1993 with support from the beninois government, with the goal of renewing the private sector through the promotion of small and medium enterprise (SME) development. PAPME was created in October 1993 with support from the beninois government, with the goal of renewing the private sector through the promotion of small and medium enterprise (SME) development. The government supported the creation of the project in an attempt to ameriorate the social effects of structural adjustment programs.
The project was transfomed into an independent entity, with the legal status of Association, in 1998.
The main challenges of PAPME are to continuously expand its geographic outreach so that it can respond to a wider spectrum of demands for services, as well as to diversify its product offerings such that in can respond to multiple client demands.
Le principal défi actuellement est le processus de transformation institutionnelle de PAPME en une Société Anonyme. Ce processus est actuellement à sa phase de formation de l'actionnariat. La première réunion des actionnaires potentiels est prévue pour le 18 octobre 2005. Les résultats attendus après la transformation sont :
-Accroître la capacité de mobilisation des ressources financières nécessaires au financement de la croissance et partant du développement de ses activités ;
- Consolider les relations vis-à-vis des partenaires actuels et potentiels (clients, personnel, banques locales, organismes de financement et prêteurs internationaux) ;
-Améliorer son positionnement stratégique, développer une culture d’entreprise performante et
rehausser la qualité de ses opérations et de ses services ;
-Améliorer son taux de pénétration à travers l’extension de ses activités sur tout le territoire national. Cacher
