The USAID-Tijara mission is to promote economic growth and employment in Iraq by increasing private sector access to finance, in particular for micro, small and medium enterprises. 
For the Sustainable Microfinance Component (SMFC), its mission and services include supporting the building of inclusive, sustainable financial services working at three tiers or levels: (a) the macro, which is with the enabling environment and the legal and regulatory framework within which the Iraqi microfinance industry works; (b) the meso, which is with the infrastructure that collectively supports that which individual MFIs cannot do economically alone; and (c) the micro, which is working with MFIs on an individual basis.
