The ACCION Latin America Bridge Fund (LABF) helps ACCION International's partner programs meet a growing demand for capital to fund their microloan portfolios. The Fund is a vehicle by which socially responsible investors can help strengthen the small businesses of the working poor and the communities in which they live. A loan to the Fund will increase the availability of business credit to hardworking women and men who otherwise have few borrowing options.

Loan funds placed in the Latin America Bridge Fund will be used as collateral for irrevocable standby letters of credit and/or similar financial guarantees issued by Citibank in favor of ACCION's affiliate programs'local banking institutions. ACCION's affiliate programs will use the credit facilities obtained to provide loans to microentrepreneurs throughout Latin America.

The Financial Services Department of ACCION International manages the ACCION LABF, operating from Washington DC.
