Oikocredit is an ecumenical co-operative financial development institution that provides credit to economically disadvantaged people. Oikocredit finances cooperatives, microcredit institutions and viable enterprises with a large number of beneficiaries in 58 countries mainly in Asia, Eastern-Europe, Latin America and Africa. Oikocredit obtains its capital by the continuous issuing of shares to its members: churches, support associations and people who want to invest in a more just global society with equal access to wealth.
