ADMIC was established in 1980 in Monterrey by a group of business visionaries with technical assistance from ACCION. Their hope was to improve their community by promoting business development. In the second half of 1998, ADMIC launched a new microcredit program in 7 of its offices, directing its outreach toward the urban self-employed with a particular emphasis on women. Almost 90% of this program's beneficiaries are low-income women who joined solidarity groups, a lending method that allows members to cross-guarantee one another's loans instead of collateral. Hide
ADMIC offers individual and solidarity groups loans. Loans vary from US$50 to US$2,000. Loan terms are from 3 to six months with a 5% monthly interest rate.
