Asasah was formed in 2003 as an NGO with the objective of Microfiannce institution replicating the grameen bank approach. Operations were conducted effectively and attained quaility growth in the first seven years. From 2009, the key area was consolidation; from 2011 Progress out of Poverty Index (PPI) was instituionalized; and is currently in the process to implement branchless banking and is also developing the client need based products on the basis of PPI results.
