Our unique, holistic approach to poverty alleviation and empowerment of the poor encompasses a range of programs in economic, social, and human development. Once a small-scale relief and rehabilitation project constructed to address the aftermath of the liberation war in Bangladesh, today BRAC has grown to become the largest southern NGO employing more than 120,000 people, the majority of which are women, and reaching more than 110 million people with our development interventions in Asia and Africa. Since 1994, we have been using our experiences of innovating and scaling up multi-dimensional anti-poverty programs to energize and accelerate poverty alleviation efforts in other countries.
