BRAC the leading development organisation from Bangladesh also functioning in Afghanistan, Srilanka and in 2006 launched its Micro Finance program in Tanzania and Uganda and recently in Southern Sudan. BRAC have entered Africa with the purpose to achive the Millennium Development Goal along with the campaign of ending poverty. During its intervention in Africa BRAC came across the following challenges: 1) Reaching the poorer communities in critical mass number. 2) Balancing objectives of poverty alleviation and that of achieving sustainability. 3) Poor infrastructure especially in the rural areas to facilitate easy accessibility to remote areas. 4) Low population densities thus slowing sustainability and limiting the impact.
