Centre for Self-help Development (CSD) has been implementing microfinance namely "Self-help Banking Program" in the hill districts of Nepal. Almost all the MFIs in Nepal are delivering their services in the tarai (Plain area) districts of Nepal where population density is high and transport and marketing facilities are better in comparison to the hills. Population in the hills are sparse and their access to institutional credit is almost non-existence.
