In the early 2008, the two microcredit projects run by the Italian NGO CeLIM were merged into a microfinance institution named Empowerment Micro Finance Institution LTD.E-MFI is a non-profit company ,which aims at creating income opportunities for women and men in rural and urban areas. In order to fulfil its mission, the institution offers credit facilities and financial empowerment to the people of Siavonga and Gwembe Districts. E-MFI will strengthen its activities by keeping loans and their disbursement tied to portfolio quality, efficiency and sustainability, which will be achieved by ensuring cost effectiveness and operation budget, conceived to maximise results and impact. E-MFI growth is vital to create a sound and reliable company, which will increase its outreach and stimulate the overall economy in its intervention area. Hide
