ENCOT is a microfinance NGO, founded by a group of indigenous NGO practitioners living in Masindi. It was founded as a response to the challenges of poverty and marginalization faced by rural communities and in particular, women and farmers. Farming and agricultural lending has not been fully explored in Uganda. Masindi is the most highly productive agricultural region in the country, which makes it imperative to develop and implement an appropriate agricultural product for rural farmers. ENCOT's outreach potential is huge, so as more funds are mobilized, ENCOT hopes to develop more centers around its rural environs so as to make its specialized products available to more clients. Hide
