After the bankrupcy of CORPOSOL, the main shareholder Finansol decided to re-structure the company and in 1997, became Finamerica with a new status. The new administration had the challenge to redefine the institution's strategies and recover the portfolio. In 1997, FINAMERICA re-opened credit services and increased its portfolio. By 1998 Finamerica had an efficient administration system and provided microentrepreneurs with appropriate products. In 1999, Finamerica initiated a process of capitalization by selling shares and obtaining USD 2 million. In the year 2000, Finamerica, diversified its products and portfolio and increased its number of clients. Today, Fiamerica has 16,000 clients.
