FINCA’s microfinance program in Kosovo was started with funding and support from USAID.
Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan officially inaugurated FINCA Kosovo`s microfinance program in February 2000 by disbursing the programs first group loan in Malishevo.
FINCA Kosovo also is the only microfinance institution in Kosovo offering business start up loans for woman and men entrepreneurs.
Today, FINCA operates in all provinces of Kosovo, except North-Mitrovica region.
FINCA Kosovo’s staff is comprised of over 200 experienced and dedicated professionals, committed to building a sustainable microfinance program and providing long-term solutions to the needs of its clients.
During its start up phase FINCA Kosovo received donor funding from USAID, UNMIK, and OSCE and today has developed donor partnerships with SDC (Swiss Development and Corporation Agency) and DANIDA (Danish International Development Agency).
In addition, FINCA Kosovo currently has funding agreements with, EFSE, Symbiotics, Responsability, EBRD, Finetic and Etimos.
FINCA Kosovo is a registered microfinance institution with the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), and is a founding and active member of the Association of Microfinance Institutions of Kosovo (AMIK) and as member of Credit Registry of Kosovo (CRK). Hide
