This challenge is overcome by organizing the families and community groups of the “Base of the Pyramid (BOP)” around a mobilizing event. Through organization, the BOP can demonstrate the latent demand that exists, thus alleviating the perceived investment risk of doing business in the area. This creates a win-win situation where residents improve their quality of life while investing businesses penetrate new markets.
