The organization has developed Village Banks for Health (BCS by the Spanish acronym) since the transfer of the village banking portfolio of the “People to People Health Foundation” in 1993. The MFI has a simple organizational structure, regional offices in the coastal provinces Manabí and El Oro and in the Andean province of Azuay, in addition to a central office in Quito.
