The Instituto Estrela de Fomento ao Micro-crédito has as its reason of existence to emancipate financially individuals pruned of economic opportunities thus that the same become sustainable and free agents on the transformation of reality through cultural change on the enterprising activities on their scope of action, propelling Micro-finance’s penetrating capacity in the Brazilian economy on a citizen, economical and environmental sustainable manner. Thus, it is necessary to ascend to the challenge of expanding the initiative in what refers to its volume and qualification of human, physical and financial resources through the application of information technology on the continuous process of planning and agility upgrade, improving the credit habilitation procedures and diversifying and qualifying the active borrowers' group, basing it on the study of market segmentation and on the existent economic niches, applying the organizational principles of social dynamics to combat the insolvency rate. The instrumental application of information technology as a common language and data base for communications capturing critical data about the internal and external environments, helping the involved actors to access specific knowledge sources and interact on the sharing of solutions for the existing problems is fundamental for the informational basis, of the intellectual skills and accumulated experiences of Estrela and of the benefited agents, enlarging, thus, the capacity of attracting financial and technological partnerships.
