Nepal Rural Development Organization, (NeRuDO), is a non-profit making non-governmental organization registered with Government of Nepal on 1991 and obtained financial intermediary license from Nepal Rastra Bank (Central bank) of Nepal on 1998. It is associated with the Grameen Trust, Bangladesh since then with replicating Grameen model microfinance program. It aims to cover a maximum number of rural poor with its community-based programs. It encourages local participation and gives special emphasis on women participation in all implementation of programs. NeRuDO believes that unless income-raising activities are carried out side-by-side; effort in community development activities is less likely to be sustainable. While income-raising activities elevate the income status of rural poor, the community development activities bind them into a cohesive community force.
