Lack of financial services throughout the country is a major problem of economic development in Nepal. Half of the population lies below the poverty line, living in rural villages where there are no banking services and facilities. Although this is cooperative coverage area is urban, there not sufficient financial service to the poor people. Realizing the necessity of a financial institution in our community, Padmavati Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. (PSCSL) was established on 15 December, 1993 and registered under Cooperative Act 1992.
