Our clients are mainly deprived women with an amazing entrepreneurial spirit who run small self-sustained businesses as a way to support their families. Porvenir S.A. started doing business the 22nd of March 2005 in the city of La Paz. Five years later it has operations in three big cities and its peripheries: El Alto, La Paz and Oruro; and intermediate towns such as Huanuni. Our main challenge is to constantly improve our quality standards to reach best industry practice. These efforts have meant that since 2008 we have had an annual financial auditing carried out by BDO Bolivia (a branch of BDO International). In addition we have looked for outside expertise to improve our business´ operations in regards to Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance (both carried on by FUNDES), Information Technologies (IT) (carried out by Cgap´isfund) and Financial Risk Auditing (to be carried out by Fitch Ratings).
