-To help in fulfilling the basic needs of the organization's target population, especially children, women, and people of low socio-economic backgrounds.
-To increase participation in local resources through promoting education, teaching information and technology and providing information.
-To strengthen the internal relationship and network of our target group.
-To help our target group in growing/enhancing their will and interest to increase their financial solvency.
-To improve the relationship between men and women and reduce differences among them.
-To establish democracy in every sphere of life.
-To motivate farmers to adopt bio cultivation systems for agricultural development and marketing linkages. Hide

BACKGROUND:
Self-Help and Rehabilitation Program (SHARP) is a nonprofit, non-government voluntary development organization based in Saidpur, Nilphamari. It was established in 1993 by youth and eminent social workers with a view to improve the socio-economic condition of the people - especially, children, women, and the poor - and to reduce the differences among people of different socio-economic backgrounds. SHARP is duly registered with the Social Welfare Department (SWD), Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh vide registration No. Nil/Sayed/150/94 dated 06 January 1999.
MAIN CHALLENGES:
-Lack of skilled manpower at senior level officials.
-Lack of internal arrangement to develop human resources.
-Weakness in fund management.
-No training cell.
-Natural disasters.
-Political uncertainty.
