The Foundation wishes to improve the economic situation of the low-income economically active population by offering them micro-credit services. Meanwhile, the Foundation wishes to support the small entrepreneurship businesses in creating and maintaining long-term employment while using wide scope of financial services. In using adequate micro-credit methodologies and quality services, the Foundation will continually maintain a satisfactory level of profitability in order to ensure an influx of additional sources of financing (investors and/or donators) while still focusing on serving mainly the targeted population. MCF Sunrise was founded in 1997, as a locally established organization. Following introduction of the Law on Microcredit Organizations in the year 2000, Sunrise was registered as a MCO in December 2000 with the mandate to provide small-scale loans. On April 30th, 2008 Microcredit Organization "Sunrise" has transformed into Microcredit Foundation "Sunrise", and until the final transformation into Microcredit Company "Sunrise", it shall remain to operate as such. Ending with December 31st of 2008, the Foundation has disbursed 130,541 micro loans in the amount of EUR 221.836.359,24 It currently employs 215 employees; 152 credit officers (in 64 Field Offices).
