World Vision started microfinance operations in Albania in May 2000. Until the end of 2009, this was through Building Futures, a microfinance program of WV Albania. From 2010, this has been through VisionFund Albania, a Limited Liability Company that is 100% owned by VisionFund International. VF Albania is legally registered and has an operating license from the Bank of Albania. VisionFund International is the microfinance subsidiary of World Vision International.
