How does MIX work?
We work with MFIs, networks and other organizations around the world to collect financial, operational and social performance data on the organizations that provide financial services to the world’s poor. Once we receive the data, we review it and double check it against the supporting documents we receive, such as audits and ratings reports. We reclassify the data according to international financial reporting standards, then make the information available to the public.

Compare MFIs
MFIs have provided us financial and performance data to allow for more transparency in the industry. This in turn leads to a stronger sector that is more integrated with the mainstream financial markets. MIX Market allows you to compare performance data of a specific MFI against others in its peer group.

Create benchmarks
Benchmarking is a way to get a view of a sector at a given time and ensures the highest level of comparability for MFI data on a global scale. Benchmarks allow you to compare an MFI’s performance to both its peer group as well as to all MFIs on MIX Market. This can help you understand better how a particular MFI is performing compared to other MFIs that are similar to it.

Create trend lines
You can also view trend lines for an MFI to see its performance over a period of time.

After creating benchmarks and trend lines, you can view these on screen, or you can print user friendly, eye-catching reports to use in analysis and discussions.
