Guided by the call to end poverty and injustice, CRS has chosen to focus on the poorest clients, to recognize the dignity of their work, and to strengthen our partner organizations who serve them.
CRS goal is to provide the self-employed poor, especially women, with access to reliable financial services. In response to client demand, CRS builds capacities and provides technical support to those partners who are committed to the goal of becoming specialized microfinance institutions. These institutions will provide our socially (and often geographically) marginalized clients and communities with permanent, mainstream financial services. Where this goal is not possible due to external constraints, CRS will explore other means of ensuring that our clients have continued access to financial resources through economic strengthening programs.
