The goal of Horus Development Finance (Horus) is to strengthen and professionalize the financial sector serving micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs) in developing and emerging countries, by implementing practical tools and methods, based on a rich experience in best business practices. Horus strongly believes that microfinance, specifically the delivery of financial services to disadvantaged segments of the population, must be professional, market-driven and sustainable. That belief leads Horus to focus its work on institutions targeting the sustainable delivery of financial services to its target group. Horus has been developing practical solutions in microfinance and development finance since the early nineties. Initially focusing on short term consultancy missions to advise donors and DFIs and to strengthen MFIs, Horus built its expertise in the field and has been increasingly called upon to also provide management services for microfinance program and institutions.
